Joanna Rot – mezzo-soprano

The singer began her musical education at the age of 7 at the State Music School Fr. Chopin in Opole, graduating with honors in the viola and solo singing class in 2006. Then she began vocal studies at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź under the supervision of Prof. Urszula Kryger, which she had graduated in 2012. At the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim (Germany), she improved her skills in the singing class of Prof. Grażyna Winogrodzka and in the chamber music class of Prof. Ulrich Eisenlohr. The outstanding baritone Olaf Bär, with whom she continued her education in Dresden, had a huge impact on her development. In addition, she worked under the supervision of outstanding individuals such as: David Wakeham, Ricardo Tamura, Fred Carama, Jerzy Artysz, Udo Reinemann, Charlotte Lehmann, Jadwiga Rappé, Dariusz Grabowski. Singer gave a number of important concerts in the country and abroad, among others performances at the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, Ascoli Piceno Festival, Heidelberger Kammermusikfestival, Musica Moderna, Wratislavia Cantans, Łódzkie Schumanniana, Kromer Biecz Festival, inaugurated the Chopin Year in Stuttgart.

She has repeatedly presented song recitals, for example in Eroica-Saal in Vienna, Saint-Matinee de Rouen, Schloss Seefeld (Germany), Vilnius City Hall or Nieborów Palace. She has performed at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, Philharmonics in Lviv, Łódź, Częstochowa, Opole, singer collaborated with the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Sopot Chamber Orchestra, Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra, Corde Armoniche Ensemble and others.

Joanna is a laureate of the 4th International R. Strauss  Competition in Sofia (also a special prize for the best performance of a Bulgarian song) and the 18th International Johannes Brahms in Pörtschach (Austria), as well was a scholarship holder of the prestigious program of the Berlin Opera Academy. In 2008, she founded a chamber duo with pianist Michał Rot. The artist also deals with early music, she successfully performs Renaissance, Baroque and early-classical works. She co-created CDs, among others. for DUX or CD-Acord. "Specters" by St. Moniuszko with her participation under the baton of Andrzej Kosendiak received the "Fryderyk" Award in 2019.

One of the greatest singers of the 20th century, Olaf Bär, said about her:
