Książek Piano Duo

Książek Piano Duo - The winners of the 2nd Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów (2021). Agnieszka Zahaczewska- Książek and Krzysztof Książek established their duo in 2012 working under tutelage of prof. Sławomir Cierpik at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow. Since then they also were guided by prof. Maria Szwajger- Kułakowska and prof. Arie Vardi.

Currently they are studying with prof. Bartłomiej Kominek at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow and with Silver-Garburg Piano Duo at Kunstuniversität in Graz. They performed concerts in Poland and abroad (Switzerland, Thailand, UK, South Africa, France). In 2019 they won 2nd prize and special prize for best interpretation of F. Schubert work at 21st International Schubert Competition for Piano Duos in Jesenik (Czech Republic). They were also finalists and got a special prize at 3rd S. Szörenyi International Duo Competition 2019 in Bucharest (Romania).

In 2020 their debut CD with Suites for two pianos by Arensky and Rachmaninoff (DUX 1720) was released what brought them recognition among the critics. In 2022 they were nominated for ‘Koryfeusz Muzyki Polskiej’ prize in category ‘Discovery of the Year’. They are recipients of ‘Młoda Polska’ scholarship. The Duo is represented by Ludwig van Beethoven Association.
