Monika Kruk


Monika Kruk graduated from piano studies extended to the vocal coaching profile at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. In 2012, she obtained a piano diploma in the class of Dr hab. Michał Szczepański and in the chamber music class of Prof. Dr hab. Magdalena Blum. She is also a graduate of the Inter-Faculty Postgraduate Song Study in Warsaw. In 2019, she defended her doctoral dissertation at her home university.

Ms. Kruk is a laureate of numerous scholarships and many awards in both national and international chamber music competitions. She received the "Chopin 2010" award for best pianist-chamber musician at the 2nd Summer Singing Academy in Sopot as well as other diplomas for outstanding accompaniment at many vocal and flute competitions (including the 4th National Vocal Competition in Drezdenko, the 17th Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz, the 1st Professor Halina Słonicka International Vocal Art Competition in Suwałki, the 9th and the 11th Ludomir Różycki National Vocal Competition in Gliwice, the 13th Franciszka Platówna National Vocal Competition in Wrocław, the International Competition "Stonavská Barborka" in the Czech Republic, the 6th Krystyna Jamroz National Vocal Competition in Kielce, the International Pisňová soutěž Bohuslav Martinů Competition in Prague, and during auditions of regional and macroregional secondary music schools. She is also a laureate of many solo piano competitions.

She mastered her skills participating in interpretation courses of instrumental, vocal and chamber music in Poland and abroad under the guidance of distinguished professors, among others Jerzy Marchwiński, Tomasz Herbut, Maciej Pikulski, Olga Pasiecznik, Jadwiga Rappe, Stephen Drury, Esther de Bros and Ronan O'Hory.

Currently, Monika Kruk works at her alma mater as a pianist-tutor in singing classes and as a chamber pianist in the flute class. She is often invited to the Winter Vocal Masterclass in Duszniki-Zdrój, the interpretation workshops at the International Wratislavia Cantans Festival, the Winter Flute Workshops in Szczawno and the Summer Workshops "Play with the Master" in Gniezno. For several years, she cooperated with the National Forum of Music in Wrocław as part of the Polish National Youth Choir project. She has already performed at the most important concert halls in Poland: the National Philharmonic, the National Forum of Music, the Philharmonics in Łódź, Częstochowa and Jelenia Góra, and in other significant cultural institutions. In 2021, alongside Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk (soprano) and Anna Bernacka (mezzo-soprano), she participated in a world premiere of songs by Mieczysław Weinberg to poems by Julian Tuwim and Adam Mickiewicz.

Ms. Kruk has cooperated with leading European flutists, including Aldo Baerten (Belgium), Mario Carollim (Freiburg), Paolo Taballione (Salzburg) and Carlo Jansem (Luxemburg). She is a member of the Polish Chamber Musicians' Association and vice-president of the Association of Artistic Initiatives "Mosty Kultury". She is also an organizational and artistic supervisor of the Summer Chamber Festival "Music in old Wrocław".
